America Proud

We are so accustomed to seeing “Made in China, Mexico, India”, etc. on products we buy that the meaning of that is somewhat lost.  America Proud was born out of the simplified concept that if we are more aware of products made in America, we may purchase more of these products, thus stimulating American jobs and the economy.  In each issue we will spotlight a company whose products are made in the USA.  We encourage you to visit their web site to learn more about them.
CutcoCUTCO Cutlery has been making American-made cutlery at its factory in Olean, N.Y., since 1949. CUTCO started as a brand of cutlery marketed by Wear-Ever, and its tradition of direct selling continues today through its affiliate company Vector Marketing Corp.  More than 700 people are employed at CUTCO’s headquarters, with  approximately 200 of those employees having 20 years or more of service to the company. CUTCO is known for its high quality products and its Forever Guarantee that covers free sharpening and repairs, forever – no receipt or registration required.
CUTCO is very committed to making its products in America. They have a few gadgets and flatware items that are sourced outside of the U.S., but the vast majority of their products, including all products with a cutting edge, are made in the U.S. For a complete list of where their items are made, visit http://www.cutco.com/company/made-in-america.jsp.
“We take pride in making high quality American-made products. Not only does that commitment provide jobs for hundreds of people, our community benefits from our success, as well. It hasn’t been easy, but we are always thinking of ways to stay competitive, and stay in America. We’ve been successful at that and we don’t plan on going anywhere.” Kathleen Donovan, Coordinator of Public Relations. Visit CUTCO at www.cutco.com.
